Gui-type incense burner, attributed to Li Daguan fl. late 16th–early 17th century? signed, noted; Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911; bronze vessel with zoomorphic motifs—squirrels, lions—vines, grapes and plant ornament; gui vessel form with handles; ritual/ceremonial incense burner; 18th–19th century; height 6.5 cm, diameter 11.7 cm, weight 0.56 kg., A small ornate bowl sits against a plain gray background, with a reflective surface beneath showing a muted mirror image; the bowl has a rounded upper section and a narrower foot, both with bands of bright gold color, while the main body shows darker bronze and brown tones; the exterior is decorated with raised floral and vine motifs in gold relief and a few circular medallion-like decorations, and the interior appears dark with brown and black hues; overall the visible colors include gold, bronze, brown, black, and gray.
