Gui-type bowl, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 2nd half 18th century. Porcelain vessel referencing a ritual gui. Supported by a low, ring-shaped foot; walls decorated with three horizontal rows of small convex knobs reminiscent of archaic ruding nailheads. Ornament framed by a thin rim at the bottom and a band framing the spout at the top. Two stylized handles on either side echo the old prototype. Upper part decorated with an image of cicada larvae arranged in a rosette. China. Height 4.5 cm; width 13 cm; diameter 7.2 cm., A shallow round vessel with a smooth interior and two short rectangular handles extending from opposite sides, shown from above against a gradient background that transitions from dark gray at the top to lighter gray at the bottom; the vessel and handles are a warm beige to light tan color with subtle variations and a slightly matte surface, and a soft shadow falls beneath and slightly to the left of the vessel.
