Vase, gift; Chinese art; Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911, Xianfeng period 1851–1861; cloisonné enamel; floral and meander ornamentation. The vase stands on a tall, conical foot flaring downward to a metal ring, decorated with a lotus tendril. The short, wide neck is topped with a metal ring and a border of ruyi-heads. The belly and neck are covered all around with a composition of flowers and plum branches against a red Chinese meander background. 1st half of the 19th century. Vessel; height 25.1 cm, diameter 16.5 cm, weight 1.5 kg., A rounded vase with a narrow neck and flared rim sits against a plain gray background; the vase is predominantly red with a repeating maze-like textured pattern and is decorated with a floral design featuring green leaves and flowers in white, yellow, blue, and pale green, along with small accents of dark blue and gold; the rim and base have a metallic gold band, and the base area shows an additional floral border in pale green, white, and blue on the red ground.
