Vase, : Paderewski, Ignacy Jan 1860–1941. Chinese; Qing dynasty Xianfeng period, 1851–1861, 1st half of the 19th century. Cloisonné enamel vessel. The vase is set on a tall, conical foot flaring downwards and terminating in a metal ring, decorated with a lotus tendril. The neck is short and wide, topped with a metal ring, below which is a border composed of ruyi-heads. The belly and neck are decorated all around with a composition of flowers and plum branches against a red Chinese meander background. Height 25.1 cm; diameter 16.5 cm; weight 1.5 kg., A rounded vase with a narrow neck and flared rim decorated with floral motifs on a red background; the surface shows a repeating geometric pattern in a slightly darker red, and branches with green leaves and blossoms in white, pale yellow, pink, and blue spread across the body; the rim and foot have gold-colored bands, and the foot area features an ornate floral border in pale green, white, yellow, and blue against the red; overall colors visible include red, green, white, blue, yellow, pink, and gold.
