Vase, gift, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, cloisonné enamel with lotus and lotus tendril ornament. Vase with a long, wide neck, supported on a separate ring-shaped foot, with a flattened spherical belly, the main decoration a dense, multicolored lotus tendril surrounding the entire surface. Foot decorated with an ornamental band of small flowers and leaves. Upper edge of the neck at the rim decorated with a border of ruyi-heads. Neck ends with a thick, ungilded metal ring. 2nd half of the 18th century, China. Vessel; height 37.8 cm, diameter 15.5 cm., A tall, bulbous vase with a long narrow neck sits against a gray background, covered in an intricate floral pattern on a turquoise-blue field; the design features large stylized flowers in red, white, yellow, blue, purple, and green, surrounded by curling dark green vine-like motifs and small decorative floral borders, with a dark brown rim at the top and a slightly flared base rim showing additional small flower motifs.
