Box with lid. Chinese, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, 18th century. Cloisonné enamel large cylindrical-spheroidal box supported on a separate annular foot, with a slightly flattened lid. The vessel is covered by a plant tendril encircling the entire surface container and lid, dominated by chrysanthemum flowers and leaves in various stylistic forms, set against a turquoise background. The band at the upper edge of the storage section and the lower edge of the cover are decorated with a ruyi-head border in white and red; a blue three-petal pattern completes the decoration. The foot has an ornamental band of colorful flowers and leafy twigs. The interior of the box and the inner surface of the foot are filled with uniform turquoise enamel. Unground portions edges of the storage section, cover, and foot are gilded. Height 14.5 cm; diameter 34.5 cm., A shallow, round bowl with a bright light blue interior and a metallic gold rim, showing a few small darker spots and subtle surface reflections; the exterior features decorative bands with patterns in blue, dark blue, white, red, green, and gold, including floral and cloud-like motifs, set against a neutral gray background.
