Box with lid, Chinese, Qing dynasty Qianlong period, cloisonné enamel, 18th century. Large cylindrical-spheroidal box supported on a separate annular foot, with a slightly flattened lid. Surface covered by a plant tendril encircling the container and lid, dominated by chrysanthemum flowers and leaves in various stylistic forms, rendered in rich multicolored enamel against a turquoise ground. Upper edge of the storage section and lower edge of the cover decorated with a border of ruyi-head motifs in white and red, with a blue three-petal pattern completing the decoration. Foot bears an ornamental band of colorful flowers and leafy twigs. Interior of the box and inner surface of the foot filled with uniform turquoise enamel; unenamelled edges of the storage section, cover, and foot are gilded. Height 14.5 cm; diameter 34.5 cm., Function: container., A rounded, oval decorative box with a domed lid and a short cylindrical base, covered in intricate floral and scroll patterns. The surface shows a dominant turquoise blue background with accents of cobalt blue, white, green, yellow, brown, and touches of purple and black. A band of metallic gold runs around the middle and along the base edges. Repeating cloud-like motifs encircle the midsection, while stylized flowers and leafy scrolls decorate the lid and lower body. The base rim displays a floral border on a deep blue field, and the overall finish appears glossy with fine enamel detailing.
