Travel cutlery set in case; 19th century, China, Qing dynasty. Consists of: a Knife with cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade. b–c Ivory chopsticks, each with an inlaid black lacquer border ornament at the top. d File decorated similarly to the chopsticks. e Case 28 cm length made of cloisonné enamel with bronze fittings engraved at top and bottom; interior lined with wood. Chopsticks and file held by a band with a matching border; narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Plant motifs and swastika iconography present. Function: travel cutlery., A long cylindrical object lying diagonally on a smooth gray surface with a detached woven strap beside it; the cylinder is decorated in a patterned blue with lighter blue panels and accents of gold and red, with swirling gold lines and small curled motifs, and metal end caps that have a worn brass or bronze appearance; the woven strap is a golden beige color with a round metal fastener and a tasseled fringe at one end in matching golden threads.
