Tin with a lid, Chinese, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period, cloisonné enamel. Cylindrical tin with a wide plate-like collar extending beyond the walls and slightly rising at the rim. Domed lid with a handle in the form of an openwork relief dragon in clouds, head directed toward a pearl at the top of the handle. Exterior of vessel box and collar decorated with multicolored red, blue, green, yellow, white small-flower ornament — branches with rosettes, buds, and leaves — on a turquoise background. Lid decorated with a lotus tendril of four geometrically arranged flowers and surrounding branches; multi-petal rosette beneath the metal handle, all on a turquoise ground. Bottom filled with a rich multicolored composition of elements reminiscent of Buddhist symbols — a vajra and Dharma wheel forming the inner central rosette, with two-colored red and blue ribbons between the Buddhist symbols. Interior of box and lid unenameled and gilded. Possibly an element of religious ritual incense box. 18th century, China. Container; height 7.7 cm, diameter 15.1 cm., A round, shallow lidded container with an ornate rounded top and a decorative finial sits against a pale neutral background. The piece features a dominant light blue color with patterns in gold outlining curling vine-like shapes and floral motifs filled with red, pink, white, green, and touches of dark blue. The rim, finial, and edging are metallic gold in color with a slightly aged patina. The domed lid displays a central floral design and flowing leaf patterns, while the cylindrical base shows a repeating floral and vine decoration. The finial is spherical with openwork and carved details in gold. The overall surface shows subtle variations in tone and texture, with areas of wear and darker spots on the gold elements.
