Box with a lid, Chinese, Qing dynasty, Qianlong period 1736–1795, cloisonné enamel, cylindrical spheroidal shape on a separate ring foot, slightly convex lid. Entire surface decorated with multi-coloured lotus tendril on a turquoise ground; foot bears a band with curling silkworm-larva motif. Rounded edge of lid, rim of box, lower edge of foot, interior and bottom gilded. Bottom engraved with inscription made in the Qianlong era and workshop/guild mark yue. Pair with a similar item; two pieces differ slightly in shape, height, and ornamentation. 18th century, China. Container; height 4 cm, diameter 6.7 cm., A shallow circular metal vessel with a wide rim, showing a worn golden surface and a few small dark spots, sits against a gray background; the interior base has a muted beige tone with some faint smudging and a small irregular patch of brownish paper, and the exterior band near the base displays a decorative turquoise area with swirling gold patterns and touches of darker blue and green.
