Round box with lid, cloisonné enamel, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Cylindrical flattened shape on a separate ring foot with a slightly convex lid. Entire surface decorated with multi-colored lotus tendrils on a turquoise background. Lid shows three freely placed fruits — a peach, a pomegranate, and a lemon — accompanied by bats; motif interpreted as wishing many happiness, long life, and many sons. Asymmetrical composition set against cloud forms made of bent wire; same motif appears in the box's interior storage section, which is also decorated with colorful medallions single, paired, or grouped in threes featuring various Chinese plant ornaments. Rounded edges of lid and body, lower edge of foot and bottom are gilded. Bottom and entire interior surface covered with turquoise enamel. Container. Height 4.6 cm; diameter 9.8 cm., A rounded lidded container with a domed top and a circular base, predominantly bright blue in color with a gold rim and gold decorative outlines, covered in swirling cloud-like patterns and stylized floral and bat-like shapes filled with colors including gold, red, purple, green, yellow, white, and dark blue, the surface showing areas of darker speckling and slight discoloration, set against a neutral gray background.
