Vase. Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Cloisonné enamel vessel on a foot with a neck, height 23.5 cm, diameter 9.3 cm. Decoration: fish and crabs on a turquoise background, archaizing inscription on the neck., A blue vase with a rounded body and a flared neck, decorated with a pattern of swirling wave lines; the neck has a band of darker blue and a narrow gold rim at the top, and the base has a gold-colored foot ring. The body features a group of stylized aquatic creatures, including a large black and white fish, a yellow crab with red-tipped claws holding a green plant, and a smaller red fish, all set against the blue background with scattered green leaf-like motifs and concentric wave lines; additional decorative bands in blue, red, green, white, and gold appear near the neck and base.
