Vase with cover, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, cloisonné enamel with lotus and geometric decorations, decorative vessel, 18th century, China; height 37 cm., A lidded vase with a bulbous body and a flared base and rim, decorated in a predominately turquoise-blue ground with an intricate repeated geometric pattern, featuring stylized lotus flowers and large green leaves with stems in darker blue, lotus blossoms in red and accents of deep blue and pale yellow, a band of red scalloped decoration near the base and a narrow gold-colored metal rim at the bottom, the lid topped with a small gold-colored knob and showing additional decorative motifs in red, blue, green, and gold on its domed surface and wide overhanging rim, all set against a light gray background.
