Vase, Japanese, Meiji–Taisho period ca. 1910–1920, cloisonné enamel, kachôga bird-and-flower motif depicting wisteria, roses, and swallows; vessel; height 20 cm, diameter 15.3 cm., A smooth oval object with a glossy light blue surface occupies the lower center of the image, decorated with painted green leaves, pale pink flowers, thin brown vines, and a small bird rendered in soft colors; there is a small round metallic fixture attached near the bottom of the object and a faint reflection of the object is visible on the flat grey surface below, while the background is a uniform muted grey.
