Bottom bears a maker’s mark in the form of a flaming pearl with the katakana character ko — the brand of enameller Gonda Hirosuke. Height 9.0 cm; diameter 8.2 cm., A rounded ceramic vase with a pale blue background showing decorative hanging flowers and leaves in shades of dark green, pale cream, and muted purple, with a painted fish in shades of red and orange near the lower side, a narrow mouth and base rim with a metallic bronze tone, and soft blue brush strokes suggesting water.
