Vase, gift, revindication noted. Ovoid, elongated cloisonné enamel vase with a short, thin, strongly flared neck. Decoration: four reserves depicting blossoming cherry, apple tree, wisteria, and lilies on a navy blue background. Japanese, ca. 1910–1920 Meiji/Taisho periods. Vessel. Height 15.5 cm; diameter 6.0 cm., A tall, slender vase with a narrow flared neck and rounded shoulders sits against a plain gray background, its surface primarily deep blue with panels of white on the front and sides containing painted floral scenes. The floral panels show green leaves and stems with flowers in shades of pale yellow, white, and hints of pink, and there are teal or turquoise leaves near the base; the panels are bordered by a reddish-brown outline. The neck and shoulder area feature decorative motifs in blue, turquoise, gold, and white, and the rim and base have metallic gold or brass-colored accents. The vase casts a soft reflective image below, mirroring its colors and shapes on a glossy surface.
