Vase, cloisonné enamel, Meiji period 1868–1912, 19th/20th century. Nagoya, Japan. Vessel with a thin short neck widening towards the spout; decorated with cranes iconography. Height 18.3 cm; diameter 10 cm., A glossy black teardrop-shaped vase with a narrow neck and flared rim, decorated with a pair of white cranes in flight with touches of gray and red on their heads and beaks; the rim and foot have metallic bronze tones with a band of pinkish accents along the base, and the background is a smooth gray gradient.
