Porcelain vase in the shape of a sake bottle, on a stem with a short narrow neck; decorated with wisterias, irises, and bamboos. Height 11.7 cm; diameter 6.5 cm., A cylindrical vase with a flared neck and foot, primarily in a marbled brown color with lighter tan mottling, sits against a pale gray background. Around the midsection is a decorative band bordered by thin gold trim featuring an intricate pattern in gold; the band shows a painted scene with a group of people wearing patterned clothing in muted colors such as black, green, blue, and beige, seated and standing on a wooden veranda. The painted scene includes architectural elements in light tan and off-white, vertical and horizontal lattice panels in off-white, hanging foliage in green, and flowering plants with purple blossoms at the base. The vase rests on a reflective surface that echoes the brown and gold tones.
