The vessel with two slightly convex handles, on three wide feet. Signed, late 19th century Meiji period, Japan, Kyoto, Awata. Vessel/container; height 6.8 cm, diameter 10.2 cm., A round decorative lid with a central raised knob sits against a gray background; the knob and outer rim are gold, and the flat surface is primarily white with ornate floral and foliate patterns in gold, green, blue, pink, and brown, plus a few small butterfly-like motifs; a colorful radial motif in red, green, and blue surrounds the base of the knob, and a gold patterned border runs around the edge.
