Seal stamp, unknown creator; Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 18th–19th century; seal stamp sculpture, Taoist subject depicting the Eight Immortals; inscription on the stamp; materials not specified; dimensions: height 9.3 cm, width 3.2 cm, depth 3.1 cm., A vertical rectangular carved object standing upright on a smooth surface, the material showing warm yellow and brown tones with areas of darker brown and subtle reddish veins; the top portion is sculpted in low relief with a figure wearing flowing robes and holding a fan, the carving exhibiting smooth rounded forms and fine folds, while the lower portion remains mostly plain with natural marbling in brown and reddish hues; the background gradates from a dark charcoal at the top to a lighter gray near the surface, and a soft shadow extends to the right of the object.
