Cloisonné enamel cellular enamel ritual/ceremonial you vessel originally used for storing alcoholic beverages form originates in the Shang Dynasty. Elaborate, precise, multi-colored cloisonné decoration on body and lid depicting a taotie mask and stylized bird images, motifs borrowed from archaic bronzes; plastic insets on the sides and animal heads on both sides of the movable handle. Wooden base mattly polished rosewood of elongated shape, decorated with bas-relief symbolic representations bats and spiral ornament. Materials/technique: cloisonné enamel, wood stand.
