Coffee pot cezve, beginning of the 20th century, Palestine. Copper vessel, height 15.5 cm, width 15.5 cm, diameter 8.7 cm. Arabic and Jewish cultural influences; used for coffee. Decoration: Hebrew inscriptions inlaid in copper, Star of Solomon motif six-pointed star, arabesque patterns; hinged lid with hinge halfway down the handle and lid topped with a crescent. Inscriptions deciphered: hexagonal star contains Gan Eden, garden; cartouche reads for celebration; under the handle, in the Star of Solomon Mim from the word water; also the word drinking., A small metallic object with a rounded, dome-like top sits on a reflective surface, showing a muted palette of brown, bronze, gold, and hints of silver and copper; the surface of the object displays engraved or embossed decorative patterns and sinuous lines in lighter metallic tones, and a short attached arm or lever extends from the side with an irregular, slightly tapered shape and a darker, aged brown finish, while the background is a smooth, pale gray transitioning to an even lighter gray toward the top.
