Inscriptions deciphered: readings include drinking; in the hexagonal star Gan Eden, garden; in the cartouche for celebration; under the handle, in the Seal of Solomon/Star of David Mim from the word water. Early 20th century, Palestine. Vessel: height 15.5 cm, width 15.5 cm, diameter 8.7 cm., A small metal vessel with a conical base and a hinged lid attached to a long thin handle is shown against a pale background, the object displaying a worn metallic patina in shades of brass, gold, brown, and dark gray with areas of silver and copper-colored inlay; the surface is decorated with ornate curving motifs and a star-shaped design, and the lid is topped with a small decorative finial while the hinged mechanism and handle appear darker and slightly rusted.
