Applied decoration: four different shells. 19th century possible Edo or Meiji period, Japan. Decorative element. Height 1.0 cm; width 3.7 cm; depth 2.0 cm., A narrow gold band with a textured surface sits horizontally against a solid gray background, decorated with a small silver shell-like ornament and a dark gray oval accent near one side and a round silver accent near the other side; visible colors include gold, silver, dark gray, and the gray of the background.
