Vase with cover, Japanese, Edo 1603–1868, 18th century, imari ceramics depicting flowers, tree, bamboos, peonies, and karashishi; vessel, height 25.5 cm, diameter 16 cm., The image shows a ceramic object with a sculpted white figure of an animal, possibly a dog or lion, perched on a white textured pedestal atop a decorative base. The base features a rich dark blue background with reddish-orange floral and wave-like patterns and some white accents. The rim of the base is scalloped and shows pale pinkish edges. The overall background of the photograph is a plain light gray.
