Pot with cover, resource pots, blue-and-white porcelain, Chinese art, plant motifs and mountain landscapes, decorative vessel, ceramics, Qing style, Qing 1644–1911 and Ming 1368–1644 associations, possibly 1st half of the 17th century, China, height 60 cm, diameter 36 cm., A lidded ceramic jar with a rounded body and domed lid sits against a dark background; the jar is predominantly white with extensive blue painted decoration, including floral and cloud-like motifs around the shoulder and a framed rectangular scene on the front showing human figures and tree branches; the lower body features a band of repeating scroll and dot patterns and the lid has complementary blue ornamental designs and a blue-tipped finial.
