Vase, 19th century, India; vessel, height 65.0 cm, width 27.5 cm, weight 2.95 kg. On the belly six ovoid reserves with figural decoration: four female figures with wreaths and two images of Vishnu. Surface decorated overall with plant and animal motifs, cobras snakes, fish, geometric and plant ornament, figural scenes, halos, maces, processions, flutes, clubs; religion Vishnu., An ornate tall vase with a rounded body and a flared neck resting on a stepped pedestal base, rendered in shades of brown and muted gold; the surface is richly embossed with repeating floral and foliate patterns and several oval medallions each containing a raised human figure in relief; two long, curved handles extend from the neck to the shoulder and terminate near the body, and two decorative leaf-shaped finials rise above the rim; the background is a neutral gray.
