Goddess holds a rosary in her right hand and a child in her left. Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911; 18th–19th century. Sculpture; height 18.2 cm, width 13.8 cm., A carved figure in a warm beige color sits on a dark, glossy black base that resembles a rocky form; the figure appears draped in flowing robes with layered folds and holds a smaller figure on its lap, with a string of beads hanging from one hand and a headpiece with soft curls atop the larger figure's head; the background is a smooth gradient from deep charcoal at the top to pale gray near the bottom.
