Shield sipar, Islamic art, Persian culture, Qajar dynasty 1785–1925, militaria; decorated with hunting scenes horses, archers, plant tendrils, inscriptions; Decoration: field with hunting scenes, belts ornamented with plant motifs and inscriptions stylized in Kufic script. 18th–19th century, Iran; weapon; height 9.0 cm, diameter 47.5 cm., A shallow dome-shaped object with a gently flared rim, shown from the side, with a dark metallic surface etched with repeating decorative motifs and intricate linear patterns; the top of the dome has a few rounded, button-like protrusions with subtle scalloped bases. The visible colors are dark gray and lighter gray on the metal, with small areas of brownish-beige material projecting from the underside along the rim.
