Oil lamp, Islamic art, Persian, oil lamp for lighting decorated with birds, geometric motifs, palmettes; lamp with a side decorative shaft, stylized medallion, palmette finial. 19th–20th century, Central Asia and/or Iran; height 45.5 cm, diameter 15.5 cm., A metallic object with a long thin vertical arm that has an uneven, textured surface and a looped handle near its midsection, attached to a horizontal bracket and a short peg ending in a rounded knob, connected at the base to a shallow, oval dish with a small pointed spout; the object is primarily brass-colored with areas of darker patina and faint greenish and brownish tones, set against a plain light gray background.
