A vessel for washing brushes, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 18th century. Vessel — a bowl resembling a leaf, entwined on the outside with a branch with small leaves; used for washing writing implements. Sculpture, vessel; height 3.8 cm, width 8.3 cm., A small translucent bowl-like object with an irregular scalloped rim sits on a smooth surface, showing a mix of pale milky white and warm amber tones with areas of clearer, nearly colorless translucency; the object has carved openings and curved petal-like forms, and casts a soft shadow to one side against a gradient background that transitions from dark gray at the top to lighter gray near the bottom.
