Signed. 19th century, Edo period 1603–1868, Japan, tsuba, height 8.0 cm, width 7.8 cm, depth 0.6 cm, A round metal object with an openwork floral or petal-like pattern, showing a central elongated oval opening flanked by a rectangular cutout and a scalloped shape, all surrounded by a ring of curved, connected petal shapes; the metal surface appears dark brown to rusty with areas of lighter brown and gray patina, and the background is a smooth pale gray.
