Deity of Longevity Shouxing, Shoulao holds a long traveling staff and a peach of immortality; his robe is decorated with cloud motifs, lingzhi mushrooms, and cranes in medallions. At Shoulao's feet stand a servant with a vessel, a deer, and a crane. Sculpture of painted/colored material Chinese, 19th century Qing, 1644–1911, height 54.2 cm; iconography includes peaches, figurines, deer, cranes, and animals., A carved dark reddish-brown wooden figurine of an elderly bearded man standing on an ornate base, wearing flowing robes with carved decorative patterns, holding a tall twisted staff in one hand and a small object in the other, with a long beard and a bald head, surrounded by carved animals and organic shapes integrated into the lower part of the composition, all set against a neutral light gray background with visible tones of reddish-brown, dark brown, and gray.
