Dark brown, porous clay, wheel-thrown; light brown glaze, rough air bubble cracks, plastic handles. 19th century Edo period / Meiji period, Japan, Owari. Vessel; height 6.3 cm, diameter 5 cm., A small rounded ceramic vessel with a short cylindrical neck and two small loop handles near the rim sits against a smooth gray background; the vessel has a mottled brown glaze with darker brown spots and speckles, a slightly darker brown rim and handle accents, and an unglazed rougher band of brown at the base, with subtle reflections visible on the surface and a faint reflection of the vessel on the underlying surface.
