Wan-nari type tea bowl wan-nari chawan, Bowl on a low, round foot; rough surface; stoneware partly glazed with white milky and grey-bluish glaze with numerous spots and drips, gold lacquer veins. Fillings and gluing made with gold lacquer. Edo period, 18th–19th century Japan. Function: tea vessel chawan. Height 8.4 cm; diameter 13.5 cm., A single ceramic bowl sits centered on a reflective surface, showing a worn and irregular rim and an overall rounded shape that narrows to a small foot. The surface of the bowl displays layered patches of muted cream, beige, light brown, and gray with areas of darker brown spotting and smudging; there are visible thin cracks repaired with a metallic gold-colored material and faint streaks and bands of reddish-brown and pale blue-green glaze near the lower portion. The interior rim appears darker and more textured while the exterior shows a mix of smooth glazed areas and rough, pitted sections, and the reflection beneath the bowl echoes the same muted color palette.
