Gu-type vase, noted. Chinese, Qing 1644–1911, 19th century. Ceremonial/ritual vessel inspired by the cult vessel gu with four convex, interrupted strips. Decoration: on the belly, oval reserves with stylized peonies on a grained background. Vessel, height 16 cm, diameter 12.2 cm., A single metallic vessel with a flared top and a rounded midsection sits against a plain light gray background; the vessel shows a few protruding wing-like handles at the top and sides and small decorative tabs around its body, and its surface displays a mix of gold, brass, and subtle iridescent tones with areas of darker patina and slight surface wear.
