Incense burner with cover - qilin; maker, gift; Chinese art; Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911; 18th century, China; incense burner on four legs with cover; decoration in flat relief featuring peonies and qilin unicorns iconography; height 10.5 cm, diameter 10.0 cm., A small metal vessel and a separate lid rest on a neutral surface against a gray background; the vessel is rounded with three short legs and a pointed projection at its rim, showing raised floral and circular decorative motifs, and the lid has a sculpted form with an open mouth-like opening and a flared, ridged base. The visible colors include dark brown, greenish patina, and hints of gold on the raised decoration, with the background and surface in shades of gray and white.
