Ding incense burner, Chinese, Qing 1644–1911, 19th century. Based on Xuan De era 1426–1435 Ming ceramics. Bronze vessel incense burner with dragon-shaped handles; taotie and dragon iconography, lizard motifs. Backdated signatures. Height 13.1 cm, diameter 21.4 cm. Ceremonial/ritual vessel., A low, rounded metal vessel with a wide rim and a bulbous body stands on three short curved legs; the body is decorated with swirling raised patterns and has sculpted handles on opposite sides shaped like stylized animal heads with curled features. The surface shows a mix of dark bronze, brown, and subtle greenish patina with areas of warmer golden-brown highlights and darker almost black shadows. The vessel sits on a reflective surface and is set against a neutral light gray background.
