Vase, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 18th/19th century. Porcelain vessel with a thick cylindrical neck and a flared spout, decorated with chrysanthemums, peonies, plum trees, meander ornament and plant motifs. Height 61.5 cm; diameter 25.7 cm; weight 10.0 kg., A single ornate vase with a bulbous body and a flared neck standing on a small rounded foot, decorated overall in a bright turquoise background with an intricate, repeating geometric pattern. The vase features floral motifs in a few colors including white, red, yellow, dark blue, and green, with leaves and stems in various shades of green. Bands of decorative patterns encircle the vase near the neck, shoulder, and foot in colors such as gold, dark blue, and reddish-brown. The rim and some accent lines appear metallic gold. The base area shows a darker blue paneled design, and the neck area has a series of vertical leaf-like motifs in green and dark blue. The surface shows slight variations in tone and some areas with darker mottling against the turquoise. The background behind the vase is a neutral light gray.
