Inner surface bears a large gold chrysanthemum rosette imperial coat of arms in the mirror with the Tokugawa family coat of arms in the center; side wall filled with dense, colorful chrysanthemum flowers and butterflies in white, red, blue, gold, and green overglaze enamels and gold. Composition finished near the rim with a uniform cobalt-blue valance ornament. Signature painted in gold on the base reading: Satsuma yaki, Satsuma kuni, Ijun'in workshop, Toyota Masanobu.
