Crossguard tsuba, Kaneie craftsman, 18th century Edo Period, 1603–1868, Japan; Fushimi, Yamashiro province. Oval tsuba tatemaru gata with rounded edge maru mimi; height 8.0 cm, width 7.4 cm, depth 0.4 cm. Both sides decorated in relief landscape with figures: obverse shows a wanderer with two calabashes at his belt and a stick standing by a mountain stream — details face, hands, bottles, binding inlaid with silver, gold, and copper; reverse depicts a fisherman in a boat by a bamboo-covered shore with minor accents inlaid with gold. Subjects: landscape motifs, rocks, trees, bamboo, water, fishermen, boats, sea waves; weapon type: sword crossguard tsuba for katana., A round, dark brown metal object with a textured surface and a few areas of lighter gray patina, featuring a central elongated opening flanked by two oval openings; near the lower right edge there is a small, raised figure in silvery-gray with darker brown accents and touches of gold on small details, and a raised rocky formation with hints of gold near the lower left; the upper right quadrant shows raised organic shapes resembling branches or foliage with similar dark brown and gray tones.
