Jug, late 19th century, Northern India, Iran, silver vessel, height 43 cm, weight 1795 g. A tall silver jug with a pear-shaped base and a tall, conical body tapering upward into a wide spout. The entire surface is richly decorated with plant motifsāleaves, twigs, tendrils, carnations and other flowers. On one side of the belly is a blank shield. The handle is ornamented with images of spotted animals with large ears and open mouths; a hinge at the upper edge of the handle indicates the vessel originally had a lid. Zoomorphic decoration and coats of arms motifs present; categorized as Islamic art., A tall ornate metal pitcher with an intricately worked surface covered in floral and leaf patterns, featuring a curved handle with sculpted animal head details and decorative motif engravings, a flared spout with patterned rim, a rounded body with a shield-shaped smooth area, and a flared pedestal base with repeating ornamental borders; the visible colors are silvery metallic tones and subtle gray variations.
