Bowl, purchased provenance noted, Islamic art, Turkish, Ottoman dynasty 1299–1922, geometric motifs and plant ornament, tugra of Abdulhamid II Ottoman sultan; 1842–1918, analogy noted, dated 1876–1909, Turkey, vessel, height 5.6 cm, diameter 19.0 cm, A shallow, oval metal bowl with an ornate raised floral and foliate pattern wrapping around its exterior, showing curved leaf motifs and stylized blossoms in relief; the rim features a patterned border with a small beaded edge and repeated decorative elements beneath it; the bowl rests on a slightly raised base and has a smooth interior visible at the top; the visible colors are shades of silver and gray with subtle variations in tone.
