Vase. Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Porcelain vessel, height 24.5 cm, diameter 17.5 cm, weight 1.35 kg. Yellow glaze with engraved decoration, partly applied plastic elements, painted with green and brown enamels. Low foot; neck cup-shaped toward the rim. Two applied plastic butterflies on the belly arms. Motifs: butterflies and plant ornaments., A ceramic vase with a yellow ground and a bulbous body tapering to a narrower neck and foot, decorated with flowing green vine and leaf motifs and dark brown floral or foliate shapes; there are a few applied dark brown decorative elements on the shoulder, a molded green band around the foot, and decorative green and brown details around the rim; the surface shows a glossy finish and some subtle darker speckling against the yellow background, and the vase sits on a reflective gray surface with a neutral pale gray background.
