Vase with two taotie masks; Chinese; Qing dynasty 1644–1911; 18th–19th century. Porcelain vessel with full sculpture and bas-relief decoration featuring dragons and taotie mask iconography. Height 15.2 cm; width 8.8 cm; depth 3.3 cm., A pale off-white carved object stands upright against a smooth gradient background that shifts from dark gray at the top to light gray at the bottom. The object has a flared base tapering into a cylindrical midsection with a raised rectangular band and a slightly flared, boat-shaped top with a curved pouring lip. A few carved projections and loop-like handles extend from the sides, and subtle incised patterns and shallow relief decorations cover parts of the surface. The object casts a soft shadow on the lighter foreground. The visible colors are off-white, dark gray, and light gray.
