Function: weapon edged weapon for katana. Japanese, Edo period 1603–1868, 17th century. Materials: tsuba, diameter 8 cm, thickness 0.3 cm., A round metal disc with a dark brown surface decorated with several gold floral motifs arranged around its edge and connected by gold branch-like lines, featuring a few cut-out openings near the center including an elongated oval and a rectangular slit, all set against a plain light gray background; visible colors include dark brown, gold, and light gray.
