Bowl with a lid, ceramics, colored porcelain, Qing dynasty Tongzhi period, 1862–1874, China; vessel with bats and swastikas loosely placed in the background of the decoration; genre scenes; hieroglyphs; height 8.6 cm, diameter 10.3 cm., A small lidded bowl with a rounded body and a short pedestal, predominantly orange with a glossy finish, decorated with several white circular medallions containing geometric line patterns and stylized motifs, and a few painted figural scenes in pastel colors including pink, green, and light blue. The rim and foot edges show thin gold accents. There are small gold cloud-like motifs and tiny decorative marks scattered on the orange surface. The interior visible at the top is white with a narrow orange band near the rim. The object sits on a reflective gray surface that mirrors the colors and shapes, and the background is a smooth medium gray.
