Bronze helmet, 4th–3rd century BC, Italy, armament; maker, height 26.5 cm without cheek guards, width 19.8 cm, depth 21.6 cm, weight 0.758 kg without cheek guards., A pair of irregularly shaped flat metal plates with curved lower edges and notched tops, shown side by side against a light gray background; the plates have a weathered, mottled surface with predominant greenish patina, dark brown and rusty orange areas, and touches of bluish-green and black; each plate has small circular holes near the lower portion and small metal loops or rings attached along the top edge; the surfaces show uneven textures, patches of corrosion, and variations in color intensity.
