Bronze helmet, 4th–3rd century BC, Italy, armament; height 27 cm without cheek guards, width 19.8 cm, depth 24 cm, weight 0.738 kg without cheek guards., A worn metal helmet viewed from the side with a rounded dome and a vertical fin-like projection rising from the top; the surface shows mottled patches of dark green, brown, and muted gold with areas of darker gray and black; a curved ear-cover piece with a looped detail and a small rectangular segmented attachment is visible toward the lower front, and a rounded cutaway near the base forms an arch; the rim along the lower edge is slightly flared and uneven in color, and the vertical projection has a darker brown tone with a small ring-like band about its shaft.
