Mold for a figurine of Ptah the dwarf. Mold for pressing casting? a figurine of Ptah the dwarf probably made by pressing from a stone matrix. The head wears a flat cap; a wide face with long, thin mustaches or swallowed snakes; in the hands two oval objects feathers?; legs are curled up. The upper torso is covered by a beaded necklace; otherwise the figure is naked. Technological grooves on both sides of the figurine. Small incisions above the head. The form is semi-oval, rounded at the bottom. Ptah the dwarf mythology; snakes; feathers; necklace iconography. Late Period, Egypt, 664–332 BC. Form. Height 2 cm, width 4.2 cm, depth 4.7 cm., A small reddish-brown carved object with an arched top, showing the recessed figure of a seated person with rounded facial features and a hat or headdress, the figure appearing to wear a necklace and a garment with a defined torso and knees; the surface has a rough, slightly pitted texture with lighter tan and white speckles and chips, and the background is a smooth pale gray.
